Playdough!

Playdough, plasticine, home made play dough-- all great for developing grip strength essential for writing! My Montessori version of Playdough is shown below: offering only one color at a time, on a tray, with one tool. With this one, we were practicing cutting with this butter knife, but that can easily be changed out if interest fades! Stamps, rollers, slicers, cutters, are all great tools to use!

Plasticine-  Gives more resistance, good to introduce after Playdough or for older children

Playdough is 2/1.00 at Walmart

Plastic Butter knife Great for slicing soft things like bananas, butter, etc.

Tools

Metal tray 3 pack

Great for crafts, pouring work, etc!

Wooden Clay Stamps

Great for working on pre writing skills

Dough Extruders

Also good for working on hand strength

Monkey Foam

Back in my day, this was called FLOAM! A great texture/sensory work, though definitely not as versatile as Plasticine or playdough
